About the Author

Taylor Thomas Smythe is a South Florida native and author of 10 novels. He has been writing creatively for most of his life, and released his award-winning debut novel The Golden Alligator in 2019, kicking off the seven-book Kingdom of Florida fantasy series. His passion is to inspire others through imaginative and innovative stories. Other creative works include singing, songwriting (for his band The Transient Friends), producing a full one-act musical, editing and writing sketch-comedy for seven seasons of a student comedy show at Palm Beach Atlantic University, and acting as founder and creative director for The Prime Floridian (a small West Palm Beach-based design brand). He has also co-written a full-length stage play. Smythe is a graphic designer and a long-time resident of West Palm Beach, Florida.

Gold Medal - IPPY Awards

In 2023, the Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPY Awards) named Taylor Thomas Smythe’s Goldie: A Magic City Wonders Novel the winner of the gold medal in the Southeast - Best Regional Fiction category.

Silver Medal - Florida Book Awards

In 2023, Goldie: A Magic City Wonders Novel by Taylor Thomas Smythe received a silver medal in the Florida Book Awards.

Silver Medal - FAPA President's Book Awards

In 2021, the first installment in Taylor Thomas Smythe’s seven-book Kingdom of Florida middle-grade fantasy series—The Golden Alligator—was chosen as the winner of a silver medal in the Florida Authors and Publishers Association President's Book Awards.
